Walked up to the water tower at the top of McLaren park, and could lookout for miles. On our way back down the hill we met a woman who had grown up in the neighborhood. Her own parents had been born in the neighborhood, and though they bought a succession of houses over the years, they never moved more than 2 blocks further than where they’d started. She also said the park used to have stables and the neighborhood kids were never scared to play in there at night. Her husband was a horticulturist and worked in Golden Gate park for 35 years. He brought home an extra redwood sapling from work one day, and years later its branches grew wider than their lawn.
Prelinger Library
Total gem of an archive run by Rick and Megan Prelinger. I was lucky enough to be introduced to it by my friend Paul, a friend from L.A. They have odd hours, but it’s worth going out of your way to give Prelinger Library a visit.

Spinechecker’s Manifesto
Spinechecker’s Manifesto is published!
Three years in the making for the author and for me as the designer. The book has wonderful essays, wisdom of fusing yoga with chiropractic treatment, and some really excellent diagrams (cough).
